The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 8: Both at Once

Earth. A life of her own. No more hunger. Asmodea wanted all of that long before she ever wanted William. "So you do want me." "You're a nice bonus." The rite cannot work without both guardians, so the angel and the demoness press their hands to his chest. Angel recites the words, calling on the light she was made from and the fire Asmodea was born in, asking his heart to remember how to beat.

Light flares under their palms, then fades to nothing. Asmodea saw this coming: words alone are not enough, and a single spell cannot unlock their power. So she climbs into William's lap and starts peeling off her leather while Angel protests. "Watch and learn." Her eyes burn red as she turns to the angel and invites her to join them. Episode 8 is where the rivalry becomes a shared rite, and the subtitles let you savor every line.
