The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 1: Dead and Wanted

Episode 1 of The Only Mortal in Heaven opens on the worst night of William Jones's life. After a decade at the same desk, he leaves the office carrying his whole career in a cardboard box. He hurries home for comfort and opens the bedroom door on his girlfriend in bed with another man. No yelling, no scene. William just turns around and walks out into the rain, listing his mistakes and wishing he could wake up as someone new.

That wish lands hard. Headlights flash, and the next thing he knows he is lying in a stone hall lined with empty beds, his head pounding. Two women stand over him: a horned demoness in black leather and a pale angel with white wings. "We're your guardians, William." The story is easy to follow with subtitles, and the hook at the end makes it impossible to stop here.
