The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 2: She Came Back After Dark

William comes to inside the Citadel of Aeris, a city shared by angels and demons. His two guardians tell him they saw the car hit him and could do nothing to stop it. Then the angel rests her hand on his arm, and her skin begins to glow from that single touch. When he asks what he is to them, the answer is one word: "Food."

Both guardians are ordered out so the human can rest. The angel promises to return and explain everything; the demoness only smiles, as if she has other plans. William lies awake wondering where he fits in a world like this. Then the candle flickers, the curtain shifts, and Asmodea slips in wearing red straps and a wicked grin. "It gets lonely in here, doesn't it?" Episode 2 ends on her whispered order to stay quiet, and the subtitles catch every teasing word.
