Episode 5 picks up with Barbara in the doorway, trench coat buttoned to the neck. Mel greets her with a lazy purr. Barbara orders them both to get dressed, but Lucas hears what Melissa is really thinking: kick her out, or get in. The two friends start fighting over him until Lucas cuts in and tells the truth. Since the intercom shock, he hears their thoughts. Both of them.

He proves it on the spot, repeating Barbara's secret about the salads and Mel's wish to share him. Silence. Barbara asks if Mel would really share him. Mel asks if she would.
